Tarawera is only 25 minutes from the city of Rotorua and it's many attractions. Below are some of the unique adventures to be had here at Lake Tarawera. MOUNT TARAWERA CRATER WALK

If you're looking for a unique walk then the guided walk around Mount Tarawera is for you. The guided walk is less than 4km but it is truly awesome. The drive out takes 45-60 minutes. This fully guided walking experience encompasses the unique landscape and history of the area. With unmatched scenic vistas and 360 panoramic views. We also have a water taxi service on the lake run by Totally Tarawera. Trips to hot water beach, natural hot pools and the Tarawera Falls Walk  can all be arranged. THE BURIED VILLAGE

If you interested in the history of this facinating area then a visit to the buried village is a must. The village of Te Wairoa was established by the christian missionary in 1848 as a model village, it survived fewer than 40 years before it and the nearby Pink and White terraces were obliterated by the eruption of Mt Tarawera in 1886. MOUNTAIN BIKING

Just along Tarawera Road, is the newly established Bike Hub with public car park and roading entry off Tarawera Road half way between Long Mile Road and Lake Tikitapu (blue lake). This provides a third entrance way to the forest. The project has a public car park able to accommodate 100 cars and includes a bike washing station and public toilet facilities.
